CUNY Tech Prep is a year long technical and professional development program for CUNY computer science and related majors to learn in-demand technologies, master professional soft skills, and land great tech jobs in NYC.

CTP's application opens once a year in early winter. Due to the volume of applications you should apply as soon as possible and provide complete information. Decisions are sent out in May. Apply below!

Am I eligible?

Yes, if you:

  • are a Computer Science (or related) Undergraduate Major
  • are graduating in Fall 2025 or later from one of 11 of the CUNY senior colleges with your Bachelor's degree
  • completed and passed coursework in Data Structures prior to the first semester of CTP
  • are 18 years or older, do not make more than $50,000/yr as an individual, and are legally able to work in the U.S.
  • have NOT participated in any other TTP-funded program
    • The application has a full list of disqualifying TTP-funded programs.

Do I have to pay for CTP?

No, the program is FREE for eligible candidates.

Do I get paid for participating in the program?

No, CTP is NOT an internship and does not guarantee a job/internship.

Do I have to be enrolled in CUNY classes to take part in CTP?

Yes, fellows must be enrolled in CUNY classes during the Fall semester.

Where does the program take place?

The program is mostly virtual with some in person elements. Fellows must be available in person in NYC to take advantage of the in person opportunities (ex: workshops, networking events, and demo night presentations).
